Turning An Established Automotive Name Into An Everyday Trusted Brand

A car sale may happen once. Brand trust has to be earned again and again.

Kaura Motors wasn’t a new business looking for attention. Incorporated in 1985 and an Accredited Leader Distributor of Peugeot vehicles since 2001, the company had already built real credibility across vehicle sales, after-sales service, genuine spare parts, technical consulting, auto body work and vehicle customising. What it lacked was a brand identity and set of customer touchpoints that matched that maturity, and a way to stay visible to customers once the sale was done.

That tension shaped our approach. Automotive brands can easily disappear from a customer’s mind the moment a sale closes, even though the real relationship, servicing, spare parts, referrals, repeat business, only really begins there. Rather than treat this as a single identity project, we built a connected system: a refreshed brand identity to signal credibility, a website to make the business easy to find and contact, and promotional materials designed to keep the brand present long after the customer left the showroom.

That thinking is what shaped the promotional work, not just the calendars, but the notebooks, pens, service stickers and domed decals that carry the brand into daily use. None of these are a one-off gift. Each one is a quiet brand ambassador: it sits on a desk, rides in a car, gets reached for, reminding the customer who Kaura Motors is, where to find them, and what they offer. Identity created recognition. The website created access. These everyday touchpoints created recall. Together, they gave Kaura Motors a brand that didn’t just make a sale, it stayed present for the next one.

02 // Strategic Pathway Discovery Matrix

Route A (Rejected)  ✗

The one-time identity refresh

Redesign the logo, refresh the colours, hand over a brand guideline, and consider the job done. It’s the industry default: solve the top-level identity, then move on. But for an automotive company, this only touches the moment of first impression. It ignores every touchpoint after: the second visit for service, the call for a spare part, the year between one car and the next. A one-time refresh solves credibility today and disappears tomorrow.

Route B (Rejected)

The seasonal marketing push

Concentrate the budget into visible, short-term activity: a launch campaign, a burst of ads, point-of-sale material timed to a promotion. It creates a spike of attention, but automotive trust isn’t built in a spike. Once the campaign ends, so does the visibility, and the customer has no reason to remember the brand until the next big push.

Chosen Framework  ✓

The brand had to live beyond the sale

Kaura Motors’ real business doesn’t end at the sale, it continues through service, spare parts, referrals and repeat visits. So the brand needed to show up at every one of those moments, not just the first. We built identity to create recognition, a website to create access, and everyday materials, calendars, stickers, notebooks, pens, to create recall long after the purchase was made. Each piece did a different job. Together, they kept the brand present.

“A brand is not remembered because it made a sale. It is remembered because it kept showing up after.”

– Skill & Sketch Strategic Team
BY BUILDING A CONNECTED SYSTEM ACROSS IDENTITY, DIGITAL PRESENCE AND EVERYDAY TOUCHPOINTS, WE HELPED KAURA MOTORS MOVE FROM A BRAND CUSTOMERS VISITED ONCE TO ONE THEY STAYED CONNECTED TO.

03 // Some Real-World Tactical Assets

Skill & Sketch built a connected brand system around one method: identity creates recognition, digital presence creates access, everyday touchpoints create recall. It was expressed through a refreshed logo and visual identity, a redesigned website, and a range of print and promotional materials, from calendars and notebooks to stickers and pens. The system gave Kaura Motors one consistent, trustworthy presence at every point customers encountered the brand, from the showroom floor to the service bay to the desk at home.

Brand Identity Guidelines

The guideline sets out the full visual system — palette, typography, logo usage — giving every stakeholder one consistent reference.

Logo Design

The refreshed shield emblem pairs bold typography with “Keep Moving Forward,” signaling the brand’s shift into a premium presence.

Lifestyle Promo Calendar Series

The wall calendar carries the brand into customers’ homes year-round, turning a simple gift into a daily reminder.

Wildlife Calendar Series

An earlier calendar paired wildlife photography with monthly themes, giving the brand a warmer presence beyond product imagery.

Logo Construction

A geometric framework underpins the shield, giving designers and vendors a precise reference so the logo never drifts.

Corporate Giveaways

Notebooks, mugs, tumblers, and totes all carry the shield mark, turning everyday items into consistent reminders of the brand.

Stationery & Print Collateral

Letterhead, business cards, and brochures carry one consistent identity, giving Kaura Motors a professional presence in every meeting.

Branded Workwear

Coveralls, shirts, and vests put the identity on the team, letting customers recognise staff before a word is exchanged.

04 // Performance Verification

A brand system means little until it’s lived in daily. These numbers track what actually shipped: how long the partnership has run, how many touchpoints the system covers, and how far the brand now reaches.

YEARS OF PARTNERSHIP

From the 2009 identity refresh to ongoing website, print and promotional work, an active brand relationship spanning nearly two decades.

BRAND SYSTEM COMPONENTS

Identity, website, service pages, promotional calendars, notebooks, pens, stickers, ongoing print collateral, and more, delivered as one connected system.

CITIES WITH ACTIVE PRESENCE

Kaduna, Abuja, Kano, Maiduguri and Minna, brand consistency carried across every location, from full offices to representative outlets.

Is Your Brand Still There After The Sale?

A connected system of identity, digital presence and everyday touchpoints kept Kaura Motors present in customers’ lives, long after they left the showroom. Let’s build that for your brand.

05 // Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions prospective clients most often ask about building a brand that stays visible long after the first sale.

Kaura Motors has been an Accredited Leader Distributor of Peugeot vehicles since 2001, and that relationship remains part of its identity. The brand work was built to sit alongside that credibility, not replace it, reinforcing Kaura Motors’ own name as the one customers trust, with its manufacturer partnerships as supporting proof.

With offices in Kaduna and Abuja, plus representative presence in Kano, Maiduguri and Minna, consistency comes down to a shared system rather than one-off design. Every touchpoint, identity, website, print, promotional material, follows the same brand guidelines, so a customer gets the same experience whether they’re at a full office or a representative outlet.

Each year’s calendar is designed to do more than mark dates. It carries the brand identity, key contact details and service reminders into a customer’s home or office, so Kaura Motors stays visible long after a purchase, without needing to run a new campaign to stay top of mind.

Because that’s where the real, ongoing relationship with an automotive customer lives. Servicing, spare parts, referrals and repeat business all happen after the first sale. A brand that only shows up at the point of purchase misses most of the relationship, so the system was built to stay present through service visits, everyday items, and digital contact points.

No, the underlying principle applies to any business where trust needs to be renewed over time rather than earned once. Automotive, home services, healthcare and other high-consideration, repeat-engagement sectors all benefit from the same logic: identity for recognition, digital presence for access, and everyday touchpoints for recall.

Since 2009, when the brand identity was first refreshed. The relationship has continued since then across website development, promotional calendars and ongoing customer-facing materials, making it one of Skill & Sketch’s longest-running brand partnerships.
